ReportNerds Privacy Policy

Data we collect

Store data you give ReportNerds read access to when you install it, such as orders, products, customers, and inventory. ReportNerds only receives the customer fields Shopify has approved it to access.

Account and usage data, such as your shop details, your email address if you sign in with email, the reports and settings you create, requests you send us (such as asking our team to build a report) with the email address you give for replies, and technical data needed to run and secure the service. ReportNerds only uses strictly necessary cookies for sign-in and security.

How we use data

We use data only to provide, support, secure, improve, and bill for ReportNerds, including aggregated, de-identified statistics about how ReportNerds is used. We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use your data or your customers' data to train AI models.

Who we share data with

We use service providers, including Amazon Web Services and Render, to host and run ReportNerds. When you ask Shopify Sidekick to prepare a report, we send your request and the names of your report fields to OpenAI to draft it; we do not send your store's data, and OpenAI does not use it to train its models. When you send a report to an email address or another service, we deliver it where you choose. We may disclose data when the law requires it.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or longer where the law requires it.

When you uninstall ReportNerds, we delete the data we copied from your Shopify store, such as orders and customers. We keep your account and your report settings, including saved reports and schedules, so everything is back if you reinstall. Email support@reportnerds.com and we'll delete those too. When Shopify tells us a customer has asked to be erased, we erase that customer's personal data. Deleted data can remain in backups for a limited time until those backups expire.

Your rights

Your customers exercise their privacy rights by contacting you; Shopify passes their requests to us and we act on them.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. This includes your rights under the GDPR in the EEA and the UK.

If you live in California, you may ask whether we have disclosed your personal information to third parties for their direct marketing. We do not disclose personal information for that purpose.

Security

We take appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access to, or disclosure, modification, or destruction of, your data. We may access your ReportNerds account only to provide support, build a report you asked us for, or investigate a problem.

Where data is stored

We store and process data with Amazon Web Services in the United States.

Children

ReportNerds is a business tool for merchants. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We will post changes on this page and update the date at the top.
